VIC – HENDRY building surveyors advise that a number of prospective clients approach us with problems associated with a Building Notice or Building Order issued under the Building Act 1993 for offences against the Building Regulations 2006, especially when no building permit has been issued. Clients whose buildings have undergone alternations without first obtaining the necessary building permit are caught out by the municipal building surveyor.

The Building Surveyor issues a building notice and subsequently where necessary a building order. We have prepared a Building Notice and Building Order Flow Chart which clients can view the process that will be followed by the council and municipal building surveyor.
