AUST – HENDRY building surveyors advise under Part C3 of the Building Code of Australia BCA a red flashing warning light of adequate intensity and an audible warning device must be installed on both sides of  a sliding fire door. Both devices must activate in conjunction with the de-activation of the electromagnetic door holder upon activation of the heat or smoke detection (and other required suitable fire alarm systems, such as sprinklers) system.
