AUST Hendry was commissioned by the property manager of an existing multilevel basement car-park to prepare evacuation diagrams under AS 3745-2010 ‘Planning for emergencies in facilities’. The client’s emergency plan and evacuation diagrams were outdated to the extent that they did not include all the new requirements with AS 3745. The emergency plan and evacuation diagrams needed a complete revision to comply with the current provisions of AS 3745-2010.
Building owners (facility owners), property managers and occupiers (tenants) need to be aware that any building works occurring in the building that alters the information contained on the evacuation diagrams or emergency plan, requires the evacuation diagrams to be upgraded and re-issued. The client requested the evacuation diagrams to be provided in A3 size and in landscape presentation.
(Note: Various symbols and indicators on evacuation signs under the BFSR and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) vary to those nominated in AS 3745-2010 ‘Planning for emergencies in facilities’. If the client requested dual compliance and then followed by AS 3745-2010 for the symbols – indicators not included in the BFSR).
