NSW – Emergency Plan offers a no nonsense ‘Emergency Planning Compliance Package’ of emergency planning services designed to meet the mandatory requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 2001 and the industry best practice recommendations of AS 3745 – 2010 ‘Planning for emergencies in facilities’. Building owners also have a duty of care to make sure that occupants and visitors are safe in the building, including during emergencies, e.g. providing evacuation diagrams. The extent and detail of the emergency procedures required to be in place are not detailed by a specific piece of legislation, so employers and building owners must rely on independent standards to guide the detail.
