AUST – Emergency Plan was approached by a property manager of a multi-storey office building containing a number of basements requesting us to update the obsolete emergency plan and evacuation diagrams in accordance with AS 3745-2010 ‘Planning for emergencies in facilities’.

We provided the emergency plan documentation as well as the evacuation diagrams to each level orientated to suit each location on the floor relative to “You Are Here”.

Training for all required entities, i.e. Emergency Planning Committee, Emergency Control Organisation, Emergency Response Exercise, Chief Warden and Occupant was carried out on site.

The client as part of their emergency planning requested the evacuation diagrams to be provided in A3 size and in landscape presentation, two examples follow:

For Queensland clients, please note various emergency planning symbols and indicators on evacuation signs under the BFSR and Queensland Fire and Rescue Services vary to those nominated in AS 3475-2010 ‘Planning for emergences in facilities’. If the client requested dual compliance with BFSR and AS 3745-2010, then the BFSR symbols would take precedence and then followed by AS 3745-2010 for the symbols – indicators not included in BFSR.
